<10> We left Strasbourg around 3pm and headed to
the French toll road towards Paris. We are traveling through France to
Trier, Germany. Trier is the oldest city in Germany with buildings dating
back to 20 B.C. It has the largest intact Roman gate in the world “Porta
Nigra”. We are staying one block away in a ho(s)tel one block from
the main market plaza. We walked to the market plaza and got a bite to
eat. We then started walking through the city as it was getting dark.
It was beautiful! It started to rain but we decided to keep touring on
foot as there were no tourists, except us, there is so much to see. We
walked to the Porta Nigra and then to the cathedral. On our way back to
our rooms we walked through Judenstrasse (jewish alley) and around the
back side of our hotel. |
